Zoom in

Magnify with the lens (camera stays put). The camera does not move; only the focal length gets longer, so the whole picture enlarges by the same ratio.

Full motion specification

How the movement works

To direct attention to one point without moving the camera; it looks flatter and more observational than a dolly in.

  1. 01Camera: position and direction fixed (height 1.5 m); only the focal length changes, 330 px → 1200 px (shown as 24mm → 87mm, about 3.6×)
  2. 02Exponential interpolation: f = 330 × (8/2.2)^p, where p is a cubic ease-in-out from 0.5 s to 3.4 s (2.9 s)
  3. 03Subject: a person stands still 8 m ahead; the final size matches 03 Dolly in (about 3.6×)
  4. 04No parallax: the foreground post and rock, the person, buildings and mountains all scale by the same ratio (overlaps do not change)
  5. 05Return: hold 3.4–4.2 s, then cross-fade back to the start over the last 0.5 s (one pass = 4.7 s)
  6. 06Top-right readout shows the focal length in mm (24mm → 87mm)

Prompt

The camera stays still; zoom in on the person at the window over 3 seconds.
